COVID-19

ADMINISTRATIVE HOLD UPDATE
As of August 4, 2020, the Cleveland VA started lifting the ADMINISTRATIVE HOLD study by study.  If your study was affected by the ADMINISTRATIVE HOLD, you will receive an email with the study specific Investigator COVID-19 Risk Assessment signed by Neal Peachey, ACOS/Research.  If you have not received this notification, you can reach out to Holly Henry.

Due to the emerging health risk of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), VA has implemented an aggressive public health response to protect and care for Veterans. VA is working directly with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other federal partners to monitor the outbreak of the virus. To help prevent COVID-19, VA is conducting extensive outreach to Veterans and staff, clinical screening at VA health care facilities, and protective procedures for patients admitted to community living centers and spinal cord injury units. For more information, visit the VA Public Health website.

To help protect the safety and health of Veterans, VA staff and the community, as well as to reduce the burden on the VA health care system, VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System (VANEOHS) is placing an ADMINISTRATIVE HOLD, effective March 20, 2020, on non-critical, in-person, human research subject interactions for research studies approved by VANEOHS IRB or the VA ORD Central IRB.

If any of your studies are affected by this hold, you must complete an Exception Report for EACH study.
